Providing a physical touchpoint to meet customers, ideally with strong branding, is crucial for companies in all sectors, including those in technical or industrial fields. German company Gebr. Held Hydraulik, a manufacturer and wholesaler of hydraulic components, though active in a technical field, values strong marketing and brand-building activities.
For Gebr. Held Hydraulik’s first showcase in China, we adapted their German exhibition stand design and layout to fit the Chinese exhibition environment. Our team ensured that the adaptation maintained the brand’s core identity, optimized operational functionality, and created an engaging experience for visitors.
Booth Dimensions and Layout
The exhibition stand spanned an area of 7.5 m × 8 m, providing a spacious, well-structured environment for product display, visitor interactions, and operational efficiency. Every element was carefully planned to optimize the visitor experience and showcase the company’s expertise in hydraulic solutions.
Special Design Features:
The exhibition stand design focused on a few core features specific to the Gebr. Held Hydraulik exhibition stand design concept.
- Lightbox Walls for High-Impact Branding: All walls were 5 m high, brightly illuminated to make the booth stand out and showcase the brand clearly.
- Interactive Touchscreens for Visitor Experience and Engagement: Visitors could explore products and services easily through two large, engaging screens.
- Hydraulic Test Machine Centerpiece: A striking test machine took center stage, safely integrated with an overhead LED highlight.
- Innovative Floor Planning: The machine sat on the floor with the floor platform built around, keeping the space safe and seamless. The machine was placed at a slight angle for a more dynamic spatial arrangement.
- Hospitality Area – Fresh Cooking: The back area included a fully equipped kitchen, supporting the cooking of fresh food to offer a state-of-the-art German experience.
Technical Complexity
As with most exhibition stand design projects, this one also had a few aspects that were technically complex. Without proper planning, technically complex design features easily become risk points.
Challenge #1: Heavy Machinery Integration
The exhibition stand design included a 4-meter-long, several-ton heavy, large hydraulic test machine as the centerpiece. The walls of the exhibition stand and the floor platform were built around and planned to finish with the borders of the machine. This meant the machine had to be placed correctly to the millimeter to allow the exhibition stand design to work.
Irregular Lightbox Shapes: While creating standard lightboxes is comparatively easy, having walls with irregular angles and cutout shapes for TVs is more difficult. In such situations, the structure needs to be reinforced at the back and has to include proper frames.
Brand Representation and Values
The stand reflects Gebr. Held Hydraulik’s dedication to innovation, quality, and customer focus. With four locations in Baden-Württemberg and a connected partner company (Fluidtec AG) in Switzerland, they provide a complete range of hydraulic solutions, including:
- Hydraulic test stand construction for pressure impulse, hydrostatic, and flexing tests
- Hose testing services according to current and advanced standards
- Complete systems for hydraulic hose fittings, cylinders, control blocks, and aggregates
- Wholesale programs featuring top brands in fluid and pneumatic technology
The exhibition stand showcased Gebr. Held Hydraulik’s expertise in an engaging, immersive space. By adapting the German design for the Chinese market, the team delivered a booth that stays true to the brand while meeting local needs.
